Various types of midland and marine fishes ar out there throughout the country. Fish lovers mustn't miss the good style of smoke-cured or poached or deep-fried Hilsa (Tenualosa ilisha), the national fish of East Pakistan. Trout, Eel, Butter fish, Ruhi, Katla, Mackerel, Reetha, Pungas Catfish, Walking Fish, large snake head ar terribly nettlesome and customary in East Pakistan. Among the marine fishes Lobster, Red Snapper, Rupchanda, Tuna, Bhetki, Loittya ar highly regarded.
